Tutorship by ABIES PhDs
June 20 2023A2DA – Tutorship of PhD students by ABIES PhDs
The approach
The A2DA approach, officially launched in spring 2019, aims at offering PhD students a place for discussion and mutual assistance during the PhD, by pairing them with a volunteered ABIES PhD.
Tutee/tutor pairs are made based on two forms (one for tutees, and one for tutors), in order to take into account the needs of the tutee, and availability of the tutor. Once set-up, the tutee/tutor pairs work autonomously, on the basis of mutual trust and respect, along with confidentiality of the discussions. A2DA referees make sure of the pairing, and of the proper functionning of the approach.
This approach is not a substitute for the other approaches offered by ABIES doctoral school (e.g. annual follow-up, mediation process), but aims at completing them. The A2DA tutorship is open to every ABIES PhD students who ask to benefit from it, and can take place all along the PhD and up to one year after the PhD defense.
For more information, read the A2DA charter and flyer.
